About Budget Pilot
A blog about what cars cost to buy, borrow for, insure, run and eventually let go of.
Most car money advice arrives attached to something for sale: a loan, a policy, a warranty, a car. Budget Pilot tries to be the page you read before any of those conversations, so you walk in knowing what the numbers should look like.
Where an article shows arithmetic, the figures are illustrative and the working is on the page so you can redo it with your own. Where rules differ between states, lenders, lessors or insurers, which is most of the time, we say so and tell you where to confirm, rather than guessing.
What we don't do
We don't sell cars, loans or insurance, we don't take applications, and there is nothing on this site to sign up for. Nothing here is financial, tax, insurance or legal advice.
Disclosure
A few pages mention Champion Auto Finance, which arranges lease buyout financing. The people behind Budget Pilot have a connection to that company, and we'd rather you know that.
